Clutch's Digital Protection Products - Plan Selection

Clutch has released a new feature, Protection Products - Plan Selection, that allows credit unions partnered with TruStage™ to present their existing GAP and DP/CI protection products with:


- All available plan options

- Estimated cost per plan

- Eligibility confirmation

- In-session selection and disclosure completion


For your applicants, it enables them to choose the protection product that best fits their needs. They can make informed decisions based on all available plans and estimated costs (calculated from loan amount, terms, your rates, and an average interest rate). It also ensures they review disclosures and confirm eligibility, all in one session.


For your staff, the selected plan and quote will be automatically submitted in the application comments section of your LOS. This provides peace of mind that if the loan amount or terms remain unchanged, the plans and disclosures do not need to be re-presented.


This feature is compliant by design, using content personalized for each credit union's GAP and Debt Protection/Credit Insurance programs, sourced directly from TruStage’s API.


What’s included:


- Real-time quotes and plan comparisons (via TruStage integration)

- Automatic filtering of ineligible products based on borrower profile

- In-app attestation capture when automated eligibility checks are inconclusive

- No member re-engagement needed before staff sends protection product documents for signing (if loan terms remain unchanged)


Note: For Mechanical Breakdown Protection (MBP), only content will be presented, and the existing LOS comment format will be maintained.


Frequently Asked Questions

Is there a cost to use this feature?


No. The Digital Protection Products – Plan Selection feature is complimentary for credit unions using the Lending Portal.


When will this be available for testing?


Starting August 8th, 2025, this feature will be available in the sandbox environments of credit unions offering TruStage™ products. For other providers, please contact your Clutch Customer Success Manager.


When will this be available for my members/applicants?


Starting September 2nd, 2025, for credit unions offering TruStage™ products. For other providers, please contact your Clutch Customer Success Manager.


What if my credit union does not want to be included in this rollout?


Please contact your Clutch Customer Success Manager before August 22nd, 2025, and we’ll ensure the feature is not activated in your Lending Portal.


What level of compliance reviews have been done?


TruStage™’s legal and compliance teams thoroughly reviewed the experience to ensure alignment with current regulations. All content displayed is compliant and tailored to your credit union’s TruStage™ program.


We’ve also conducted usability testing to ensure a seamless and enjoyable member experience.


Note: We are unable to support granular customization requests.


Where does the content and disclosures being displayed in the experience come from?


All quotes, eligibility details, content, and disclosures are pulled from your credit union’s specific configuration within TruStage’s API.


Which LOSs are supported?


This feature is compatible with the following Loan Origination Systems:


- Meridian Link Consumer (fka LoansPQ) - **via API connection only**

- Origence Arc OS (fka L360)

- Temenos

- Sync1

- Velocity


Which Insurance Providers are supported?


We currently support plan experiences for:


- Payment Protection - Credit Insurance or Debt Protection

- GAP - Offered through TruStage™ only


Why aren't Mechanical Protection Plans available?


We rely on TruStage™ for data powering the Plan Selection feature. As of August 2025, Mechanical Protection Plans are not accessible via their API.


What happens if any of my Protection Products are with another provider?


Display logic depends on provider:


1. If you offer Payment Protection, GAP, and MRC through TruStage™, you will see:

    - Payment Protection and GAP with full plan selection

    - MRC with the interest checkbox only

2. If you offer Payment Protection via TruStage™, but GAP and MRC through other providers, you will see:

    - Payment Protection with plan selection

    - GAP and MRC with interest checkboxes only

- New auto loan applications

- Auto loan refinance applications

- New personal loan applications

- Personal loan refinance applications

- Credit card applications
